Salt

I give credit where credit is do. Lavaboots Studios has made a beautiful looking game. That's about all I can say that really had me interested. The first thing that instantly pissed me off was the crafting. It's confusing and it feels like it's extremely condensed. You feel as if there's not a lot to do. You spawn on an island with nothing. You search the small island and you find treasure chests and dead Pirates.

You finally figure out how to craft yourself a Wooden Club, then you find boulders and hit them with your club and get rocks. Then you stare at the crafting menu for 10 minutes and click some shit you think is right and craft some other shit that you figure out you didn't need. You finally say "Fuck It" and go to the Salt Wiki page.

Finally, After minutes of research you craft your first boat and immediately give up because it's rinse and repeat. It's the same shit over and over again. Salt is a copy of a copy of a copy. It has been done a million times. It just so happens that instead of Zombies or Monsters it's Pirates. I don't see anything really different about Salt in any way.

I honestly have nothing else to say about this game. The trailer caught my eye and made it look cool. I think it was more the graphics that hooked me than the game play itself. If you're into the Survival/Crafting/Adventure genre, pick up Salt and give it a go. Graphically you will not be let down.
